ArabPlast brings together plastics industries in the Emirates

For the 2017 edition, companies from India, Taiwan and Germany have confirmed their presence, "said Satish Khanna, general manager of the company Al Fajer Information and Service, which organizes the event, on some of the nations with large number of exhibitors. According to indicators of the plastic industry of the Gulf Cooperation Council, the plastics production capacity of the countries of the bloc has tripled in the last ten years, reaching 26.2 million tons in 2015, which generated a revenue of US $ 32 billion .

"It is a fact that this sector was impacted this year by the drop in oil prices and the rising costs of raw materials. This is one of the challenges that the participants will have to discuss during the three days of ArabPlast 2017 and develop beneficial strategies aimed at local and international industrialists and decision makers, "Khanna said, according to WAM.

The fair takes place every two years, its last edition in 2015, with 906 exhibitors from 41 countries and received 27,268 visitors from 119 nations.
