The move represents international recognition to Dubai's exhibition sector that reached high levels of maturity and is now looking to expand its footprint to other regions of the world.
Targeted at importers, volume buyers and purchasing managers who aim to source directly from competitive and quality suppliers from all over the world, the new show will be showcasing home products, household and home electronics, fashion accessories and beauty products.
Satish Khanna, General Manager of Al Fajer Information & Services said: "We are thrilled to announce the launch of this new show and our partnership with ANTAD. As a Dubai based company that handles major exhibitions in the UAE, this is a huge leap for us. The local sector is steadily gaining attention from international organisations, thus boosting the Emirate's position on the global front."
"MSF will supplement the sourcing needs for various buying seasons. It will certainly answer the need of buyers who want to source new products from new suppliers on a more regular basis from all over the world," Khanna added.
Manuel Alvarez, Convention Manager, ANTAD, said: "We have chosen to partner with a company based in the UAE because of the potential we see in this country and great attention it is gaining worldwide. Al Fajer is an ideal partner for such a show thanks to their 28 years of experience in the UAE."
"We have chosen Mexico to launch this show because it is the seventh largest economy in the world and the eleventh in purchasing power. The country is also ranked eleventh on the global ranking of population size, with a population of over 113.7 million," Alvarez added.
"We are keen to attract GCC companies to this newly born show and it has already got positive response from China, India and the USA," added Ignacio Tatto Amador, General Manager of Operations at ANTAD.
Khanna added: "There is a positive growth in the Mexican economy as many foreign owned factories are being opened across the country. During the period of 2009 -2012, there is a 50% jump in exports from these foreign owned factories to reach US $ 196 billion. Interestingly, during the same period the Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) to Mexico has also grown over 50% to reach US $ 35 billion."
Khanna said: "Global sourcing has emerged as a strategic procurement concept with an international focus. The popularity and feasibility of this new trend has encouraged us to launch this new exhibition in Mexico."
The show will focus on helping companies to source their products globally, which is the process of identifying, developing, and utilizing the best source of supply, regardless of location.
Amador said: "Most companies report 10% to 35% cost savings by sourcing from low-cost country suppliers. The US alone imported consumer goods worth $ 517 billion in 2012 this way. This is largely becoming a global trend."
Al Fajer Information & Services , established in 1973, is now the leading exhibition organiser and provider of exhibition services in the Middle East. The company currently organises and manages some premier shows in Dubai and has some 25 international exhibitions in seven countries in its portfolio, as well as offices and agent networks worldwide.
ANTAD is a leading group of supermarket chains, including Walmex and Soriana as well as department stores that operate mainly in Mexico.
